Making Amends

In my mind, making amends means un-doing something, taking something back, etc. I wish I could. I just finished writing someone a letter of apology for my behavior over 6 years ago.

I was in a lot of pain and was blinded to the pain of another. I was rude, judgemental, insensitive, and arrogant.

This was all to a child. Now, this child is an adult. We have no relationship with the exception of sharing the same family tree.

I wrote the letter with no excuse for my behavior, instead, I acknowledged what I did, how horrible and wrong I was and that I hope we can re-acquaint in the future. My shame is deep.

I'll mail it tomorrow. I prayed for the right words, now I'm praying for acceptance of my surrendering.
